ASAP : Anti Smoking Short Film
A creative crutch does not have to be deadly. To aspiring indie film maker Aaron Koh, the notion that creative people have to light up for inspiration is severely misguided. He, for one, is proof to the contrary. Getting the message through to youth is not going to be easy, but Aaron is up to the challenge. ASAP is a short film that will try to create impressions of not just the danger of smoking, but how it could affect their relationship with the people around him. Using narrative and songs, Aaron is ready to call Action!
WHAT ?
ASAP is a 10-minute short film about anti-smoking accompanied by a theme song in Bahasa Malaysia. Aaron believes that art is the most effective way to capture and communicate anti-smoking messages to the general Malaysian public, especially the youth.
WHY ?
Young people know smoking is bad and they are well aware of the ugly downside. Still, they continue to indulge and tolerate the lethal habit. With his movie, Aaron aims to instill a new consciousness among the youths about the dangers of smoking, and encourage a smoke-free life across all age groups.
HOW ?
Using narrative and music, ASAP will educate and persuade. This short movie will revolve around how your lethal habit can affect those around you, and also what you can do to quit smoking. With subtle approach, Aaron hopes the intent and spirit of ASAP can be accepted and most importantly, communicated effectively.
